Strike Bike v1

Strike Bike: When a bicycle factory in Thüringen, Germany, was threatened with closure in 2007, its workers occupied the factory, and sent out a call for cyclists to support them by purchasing one of the 1800 bikes they needed to produce and sell to make the factory viable under workers’ control. Velodarlo bought two of these bikes, and the Strike-Bike Gmbh was born. Today the factory continues in production, under workers’ control. These red ladies’ bikes feature a partially covered chain and basket. They also come with three gears, front hand brake, rear back-pedal brake and a modern, reliable and efficient hub dynamo.

Dutchie: The latest addition to our range, the Dutchie is imported by Dutchie Bicycles, based in London. We had quite a surprise when the bike arrived directly from Holland in a flat pack. But fortunately, members of Darlington Cycling Campaign were around to help build up the bike in no time. The Dutchie has a “sit-on” stand under the rear wheel, skirt guard and rear basket, three gears, and a traditional wheel dynamo for the lights.
